“Diagnosis” comes from the Greek language and it means “Knowing through”. Although we are not qualified medical practitioners and do not diagnose, there are quite a few things we need to do during the initial intake process, to complete a full assessment. These include, but are not limited to the following: taking a good medical history (going through a set of questions, intake forms, analysis of lab work and other diagnostic tests, etc.), visual assessment (nails, tongue, hair, posture and physique, complexion, facial signs, etc.); on some occasions, other assessment techniques can also be included (for example, tactile assessment, auditory assessment, etc.).
